MADISON BRENNAN
Registered Massage Therapist and Registered Kinesiologist
Madison graduated from Algonquin College’s Massage Therapy Intensive program and continues to develop her assessment and treatment skills for a variety of different conditions. Madison has gained hands-on experience at a number of massage clinics in Ottawa, as well as the Riverside Hospital and at Carleton University. In addition, she has worked with athletes, has volunteered at Ottawa Race weekend and at Ottawa University Athletics.
Madison grew up in Ottawa where she spent her time training as a competitive dancer. She understands the dedication and commitment it takes to be a part of a competitive sport, and that with training follows injuries and subsequent rehabilitation to regain strength and coordination after being off; these are some of the reasons she became a Massage Therapist. Madison takes pride in being able to help individuals reach their goals, whether returning to sports and an active lifestyle or improving the quality of life following a chronic condition.
Madison has a passion for learning, which drives her to attend a number of professional development courses annually, such as NeuroKinetic Therapy and Sports Massage. This allows Madison to expand her knowledge base and apply newly found skills to her clients. Madison believes the more tools and resources available for her clients, the more effective she can be as a professional. Madison is a strong believer in an integrated team environment and works closely with the professionals at Continuum Fitness & Movement Performance to help provide the best care for her clients.
Madison takes an assessment-based approach to her treatment, utilizing postural assessment, range of motion, and manual muscle testing to find compensations and movement patterns within her clients. This allows Madison to help create a treatment plan unique to each individual. Madison treats a variety of injuries and conditions ranging from limited flexibility to those who are hypermobile, helping each person improve mobility and stability.
