Registered Massage Therapist 

Christin has been a  practicing Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) since 2009. As a graduate from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy’s 3000-hour diploma program, Christin worked in a variety of multi-disciplinary clinics prior to moving to Ottawa and registering as a therapist in the province of Ontario in 2014.

Incorporating manual techniques with movement testing and retraining, Christin works to help patients identify and understand issues, control movement, and progress towards optimal form and function. Christin is a strong believer in a multi-disciplinary approach and aims to work with the Coaches and Athletic Therapists at Continuum Fitness & Movement Performance to help patients reach their goals effectively and efficiently. Christin has a special interest in the rehabilitation and management of sport and exercise injuries, and possesses extensive elite experience caring for the shoulder and lower back.

Outside of in-clinic work, Christin is a member of Swimming Canada’s Integrated Support Team, and has supported Canada’s national swim athletes at multiple national and international competitions, including the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games. Additionally, Christin has worked at a variety of independent and national level sport competitions, including squash championships, trail running races, marathons, and triathlons.

An active member of the Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) community, Christin is a Professor in the Massage Therapy Diploma program at Algonquin College, where she teaches sports massage therapy, clinical assessment, and manual skills courses. Christin has been an elected member of the board of directors for the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of British Columbia (RMTBC), and has taught several courses at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Vancouver.

In addition to her educational pursuits with the University of Ottawa, Christin has published peer-reviewed articles on shoulder care and upper limb proprioception. In her off time, Christin is an avid trail and road runner, training for everything from 5 K runs to ultramarathons.
